Sevil’s Biography:

Sevil brings not only clinical training but deep lived experience to her work. Through her own healing journey, she is intimately familiar with the pain, fear, and beauty of transformation, experience that shapes the presence she brings into every session. Clients often describe her as warm, playful, and real.

She specializes in working with functioning adults who appear composed on the outside but carry quiet inner storms. Her therapy focus is with individuals navigating a mix of struggles like relationship challenges, anxiety, perfectionism, shame, feeling depressed, feeling like a burden, or feeling constantly behind. Often, these experiences are rooted in complex trauma (relational, intergenerational, or cultural traumas) and/or ADHD.

Her view of therapy weaves together scientific, developmental (both psychological and existential), and spiritual understandings of the human experience. She works integratively with cognitive, emotional, somatic, and meaning-making or spiritual aspects of healing. At the heart of her work is a belief that healing is more than symptom relief, it’s a return to your true self.

Sevil offers a space where your thoughts, emotions, body’s messages, and spirit can be held, understood, and brought back into harmony by compassion, curiosity, and creativity, so you can feel internally safe, grounded, and resilient to be able to fully live your life, not just survive it.

Sevil believes we’re all born walking a path toward our highest potential. But when essential needs like safety, connection, and meaning go unmet, through trauma, neglect, inconsistent attachment, or criticism, parts of us get stuck. Some carry pain and are exiled from awareness.

Others protect us from that pain, driving us to overwork, avoid, withdraw, or people-please, redirecting energy toward survival, even at the cost of fragmenting our sense of self and connection.

In therapy, Sevil uses Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Gestalt approaches to help you slow down so you build a compassionate relationship with your parts, not to judge or fix them, but to heal them by understanding and helping them release past pains or burdens that were never theirs to carry. Her work also draws from psychodynamic therapy, CBT, somatic approaches, and vagus nerve-based tools to support nervous system healing, emotional clarity, and embodied change.

Her previous work at a community clinic, UBC Hospital’s psych unit, and the Crisis and Suicide Prevention Centre has prepared her to stay grounded and attuned, even in moments of emotional escalation or when walking with clients through the darkest parts of the human soul.

Sevil holds a B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia with a research focus in neuroscience and epigenetics. She later studied masters of Human Development, Learning, and Culture at UBC, completed postgraduate training in psychodynamic therapy at the Toronto Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and received her IFS training through the IFS Institute.

She is particularly interested in how therapy can support neuroplastic changes in the brain and nervous system, and even influence gene expression, reversing the impact of trauma through relational healing while keeping the wisdom gained from working through the it’s pain.

Outside of therapy, she enjoys nature, learning, delicious food, and time with her loved ones and two little fur babies. She likes artistic projects, thought provoking films, and the occasional sitcom binge.
