About Ghazala:
As a therapist, one of Ghazala's most deeply held beliefs is that each of us has the potential to live the best life. We can do this when we learn how to remain calm and collected in stressful moments, identify and detach from unhelpful thought patterns, and develop the courage to change behaviours that keep us stuck in negative cycles. Sometimes we’re able to do this on our own, and other times - especially when we feel routinely overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious, and discouraged - we need someone to walk alongside us to help us figure out how to regain control of our emotions, rekindle our hope, and navigate life’s inevitable difficulties. This is where a skilled, experienced, and compassionate therapist can really help.
With extensive training in CBT, DBT, EFT, Gottman Relationship Therapy, and Clinical Hypnotherapy, and as a certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA approved consultant, Ghazala likes to use the skills and insights that she has sharpened over the course of her career to help you break negative cycles in your life and step into deeper levels of intimacy with your partner. Ghazala works with individual adults, couples, and families, with a focus on helping her clients strengthen their relationships, develop new and healthier ways of coping with difficult emotions, and explore their attachment needs and their longing for love and connection in a safe and supportive environment.
Having first-hand knowledge and exposure to diverse cultures and faiths, Ghazala knows how important it is for our core values and beliefs to be respected and honoured in the counselling process. She is committed to making your experience in therapy as personal and meaningful as possible by ensuring that these important parts of your identity are reflected in the way we work together.
In her spare time, Ghazala enjoys workout classes, swimming, hot yoga, travelling, spending time with family and friends. She is an active member of her community and likes to volunteer for causes that are close to her heart.
