Aidan’s Biography:

Aidan is a Master of Social Work student at Wilfrid Laurier University, currently completing his advanced field placement with Transformation Counselling. When working with Aidan his goal is to help you feel supported, relaxed and truly seen as you share your story. He brings an approach that is collaborative, genuine and strengths based to help you feel comfortable bringing your true self to therapy. With respect, curiosity, and a touch of humour, he looks forward to hearing your story and helping you work through your individual goals.

Aidan brings an eclectic approach to therapy drawing from different modalities. Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Based Therapy are his home base, however, he recognizes one approach does not fit all cases and is committed to bringing a varied approach to help best suit your needs. Aidan’s passion lies in supporting individuals through anxiety struggles, body image, relationship challenges, life transitions/ changes and navigating gender norms.

Aidan graduated from King’s University College at Western where he received his Bachelor in Social Work. Since then, he has worked in community mental health settings providing both crisis and long term support to children, youth, adults and families. Most recently, he worked in the Counselling&Accessibility Services office at Fanshawe College where he supported post secondary students with concerns related to anxiety, depression, academic stress and relationships. Previously, he’s worked with families and young people in crisis through Attachment Based Family Therapy and a Youth mental health counselling phone line providing him experience supporting those navigating family breakdowns, self esteem concerns, ADHD, anger management, relationship issues and depression.

Above all, Aidan believes in the power of growth and one's ability to change. He knows personally how difficult it can be to ask for help which makes him committed to providing a safe space for clients through their therapy journey by bringing humility, honesty and warmth to each session.

Outside of therapy you will find him rock climbing, reading (all genres), running or thrifting. He has a deep love for nature and the outdoors and is always looking for a new trail to explore.
