Accepting New Clients 🟢

Hello, my name is Nishaana! 👋

Therapy can be the place where you finally get to slow down, take a breath, and stop holding everything together on your own. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and deeply caring, yet still feel disconnected from themselves, caught in familiar patterns, or uncertain why life feels heavier than it should.

My goal is to help you feel more grounded, clear, and connected, both within yourself and in your relationships.

I practice from a relational, culturally attuned, and upstream perspective, working with individuals, couples, and families. Rather than focusing solely on what feels “wrong,” we explore the bigger picture: your relationships, family dynamics, cultural context, and past experiences. Together, we work to understand how certain patterns formed, why they once made sense, and how to create change that feels gentle, meaningful, and sustainable.

Growing up in a South Asian (Brown) household, I understand the complexity of balancing family expectations with personal needs, and the pressure to be the “good one” while quietly carrying your own emotions. These experiences shape how we communicate, set boundaries, and show up in relationships. I’m especially mindful of the unique experiences of BIPOC and first-generation clients, and I welcome people from all backgrounds into my practice.

Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to. I work at your pace and believe therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating to be effective. My work is trauma-informed and draws from approaches such as EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and spiritual care, family therapy, and other relational and strengths-based modalities. I tailor therapy to each individual, believing there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing.

You can also catch me in NOW Toronto, where I’ve shared perspectives on relationships and breakups, in the article “Never Settle! Breakup Lessons Straight from the Streets of Toronto.”

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy travelling, listening to true crime podcasts, and exploring new foods—especially hidden neighbourhood spots that don’t look fancy but turn out to be amazing. I believe comfort, curiosity, and connection matter, both in therapy and in life.
