Nic’s Biography:

Nic (They/Them) is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers who completed their Masters of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University with a research focus on autism and homelessness experiences within the region.

Nic enjoys supporting autistic, ADHD, and LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as people navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, and life transitions. They strive to create a therapy space that feels affirming, genuinely human, and free from judgment.

They take a collaborative, grounded, and flexible approach to therapy and believe that a person's experience makes sense in the context of what they have lived through and the environments they have had to navigate. Many of the struggles people experience are understandable responses to stress, burnout, trauma, overwhelm, disconnection, and systems that can feel difficult or unforgiving.

Their work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), trauma-informed practice, and somatic-informed approaches. Depending on a client’s needs, therapy may focus on building coping tools, managing overwhelm, exploring identity and relationships, reconnecting with oneself, and creating ways of moving through life that feel more sustainable and aligned.

Before moving into private practice, Nic spent four years working in shelter settings supporting individuals experiencing crisis, trauma, housing instability, and systemic barriers. They also worked on an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) crisis line supporting individuals experiencing acute stress, burnout, and emotional overwhelm.

Outside of the office, Nic enjoys reading, baking, taking care of an orange cat, and continuing their learning journey.
