That is why we are pleased to announce that, beginning August 1, 2026, Transformation Counselling will be opening a second location in Cambridge and our first location in Ottawa.
This expansion will allow us to support more children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families across both communities while continuing our commitment to accessible, timely, and client-centred mental health care.
Helping Reduce Mental Health Wait Times
We understand how difficult it can be to ask for help, especially when someone is already feeling overwhelmed, anxious, discouraged, or unsure about what to do next.
Long wait times can make that experience even harder.
Cambridge and Ottawa are both growing communities where many individuals and families experience significant delays when trying to access counselling, psychological assessments, medication support, and other mental health services.
Our goal is to help reduce those wait times by expanding the number of services and appointment options available within each community.
Every person who contacts us has a different story, concern, and reason for seeking support. Whether someone is struggling with their mental health, looking for help for their child, navigating relationship challenges, or seeking greater clarity through an assessment, our team is here to listen and help them understand their options.

Expanding Free and Low-Cost Counselling
Cost should not prevent someone from receiving support.
As part of this expansion, we will be extending our free and low-cost counselling options to our Cambridge and Ottawa locations.
These services are intended to help individuals and families who may not have insurance coverage or who may find the cost of private mental health care difficult to manage.
We want clients to feel comfortable contacting us to discuss their needs, even when they are unsure what type of service they require or what they can afford. Our administrative team can explain available options and help clients identify an appropriate starting point.
Psychological Assessment Services
Our psychological assessment services can help children, teenagers, and adults gain a clearer understanding of their learning, attention, developmental, emotional, behavioural, or mental health needs.
Depending on the type of assessment, the process may help identify concerns such as:
ADHD
Autism
Learning disabilities
Academic difficulties
Anxiety
Depression
Trauma-related concerns
Emotional or behavioural challenges
Other mental health conditions
Assessment results may also help clients access educational accommodations, workplace supports, treatment recommendations, community resources, or additional professional care.
We know that seeking an assessment can feel confusing or intimidating. Our team aims to make the process as clear, supportive, and manageable as possible from the initial consultation through the final report and recommendations.
Nurse Practitioner Mental Health Services
Our nurse practitioner services provide another accessible option for clients seeking mental health assessment and treatment.
Depending on the client’s needs, nurse practitioner services may include:
Mental health assessments
Diagnostic support
Treatment recommendations
Medication prescriptions
Medication monitoring and follow-up
Referrals to psychologists, psychiatrists, or other health-care professionals when appropriate
These services can be particularly helpful for individuals who are having difficulty accessing timely assessment or medication support elsewhere.
