Hi there, I’m John 👋

Life can be overwhelming. Sometimes people find themselves carrying anxiety, painful experiences, or relationship patterns that no longer serve them, wondering why they keep feeling stuck despite their best efforts. John believes therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, make sense of these experiences, and understand the deeper patterns that have shaped them.

His hope is to create a warm, genuine relationship where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they move toward healing.

John’s approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens through authentic relationships. With compassion and curiosity, he helps clients explore how their life story, early relationships, and protective patterns continue to influence the present. Together, they work to develop greater self-understanding, emotional steadiness, and more secure ways of relating to themselves and others.

John is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and holds a Master of Arts in Spirituality and Counselling from Saint Paul University. He works with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, overwhelming thoughts or behaviours, self-worth struggles, and the lasting impact of difficult life experiences. His work is primarily informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and psychodynamic psychotherapy, helping clients understand how early relationships, protective patterns, and different parts of themselves continue to shape their present lives. He also integrates strengths-based and motivational approaches to support meaningful, lasting change.

With a background in spirituality and formal training in spiritually integrated psychotherapy, John thoughtfully incorporates spiritual themes into therapy when they are meaningful to the client. Whether exploring questions of meaning, identity, faith, or spiritual struggle, his approach is always client-led and respectful. His goal is to help clients integrate their emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being in a way that feels authentic, grounded, and aligned with their values.

Outside of the therapy room, John values spending time being outdoors, staying active through running, and finding opportunities to slow down and reconnect with what matters most.

He believes those same moments of connection, reflection, and intentional living are often an important part of healing.
